Ceramics One Final

1. The project that I was most successful in was the food box. The theme of my box was a s'more and I used slabs to create the illusion of a s'more. I made sure my s'more was life like I use sponges to make it look like it was burnt and all sorts of colors to create a nice looking s'more. The choices I made not only made it a better project but made it one of my favorites of the semester. The techniques i used was slabs lots and lots of slabs. When I was making my food box I used slipping and scoring to make sure everything I added on to the project would stay and wouldn't fall apart. I also used pin tools to add details and make sure it would look the way it was suppose to look and it became a s'more. That is why I think that the food box made of slabs became my best project of the semester.

2. The project I think I overcame many obstacles was my teapot final it was a lot of work and took a lot of work it wasn't like any of the others that I could do in a day and a half. I became very frusterated and aggravated at it falling apart or just not turning out the way I wanted it to look. When building my final almost everyday I would come in and it would have something wrong with it or it's break or crack. It became very frustrating. I wanted to give up several times but I kept trying and it turned out to be decent enough project. The teapot took a lot of work and made it so I actually had to try really hard and not just get it finished really fast like my other projects. When I was creating my teapot it was one problem after the next and it just wasn't working and in the end it ended up working out and being somewhat decent. That is why my teapot is the project I decided was my project I overcame a lot of obstacles.

3. Two projects I believe I grew as an artist is my food box and my relief sculpture. Those two projects I took a lot of time and put a lot of detail into it. It become more life like my s'more look like a real s'more just really really big. The relief sculpture looks like you could be diving deep down in the sea. The project made me grow with detail because in order to make it look how it did you had to put a lot of detail into it. The project made me grow while I was working on them because towards the beginning I didn't focus on detail I just wanted it done. But when I work on this detail became the most important thing to do it made the projects come to life. This is the reason I think these two projects made me grow as an artist.

4. With allowing up to have more personality to our project we put more effort into it if we were doing something we didn't like to do or didn't care about nothing would look good. It was an effective way of doing things so we'd actually like the way they look the more personality it has the better the project is. Even though we had structure we still got to use out imagination and it came out looking how we'd want it to be with our personality. If you would have said everyone make a teapot and paint it purple nobody would be able to show who they our because everyone is different in there own way. So allowing us to show our creative side was the best way to teach this class. With you allowing us to choice the subject of our art work it made us become emotionally attached to it unlike if you'd force us to
